Mattress Care
- A mattress will conform and compress to each person’s shape and weight.
- These naturally occurring body impressions are not defects. Regular rotation will ensure even wear. A new mattress should be rotated every 2 weeks for the first 2 months and then every 2 to 3 months thereafter.
- A proper bed support (center support for king) is necessary so that sagging and damage do not occur and is essential for warranty claims. All queen and king bed frames must have center support feet that touch the floor.
- • Vacuum your mattress regularly. As dust particles and skin shed, they make their way into the layers of the mattress. A mattress pad is recommended since soil and/or stains will void your warranty.
- Do not lift your mattress by the handles. Handles are provided for positioning only. Avoid prolonged sitting on the edge of the bed.
60 Day Comfort Warranty Guarantee
We offer our comfort warranty guarantee on all Comfort Solutions by King Koil products only. Mattresses may be exchanged within the first 31-60 days for a Comfort Solutions mattress of greater value.
- Our mattress pad must be purchased and used on your new mattress.
- Your Comfort Solutions mattress must be free of stains.
- The customer will incur an additional delivery service charge upon re-selection equal to the original delivery fee. AFD delivery service is required to ensure quality control.
We feel that this comfort warranty is in the best interest of all AFD customers. Thank you for your business.
Leather
- Leather is the most durable of fabrics when properly cared for; lasting 3 times longer than fabric upholstery.
- Natural markings such as scars, brands, grain, variations, wrinkles, etc., are normal and are not considered defects. No two cow hides are the same, therefore, color will occur.
- Vacuuming and dusting are among the manufacturer’s highest recommendations for product care
- Heat sources and direct sunlight will dry the natural oils in leather. Sunlight will also cause leather to fade.
- Blot spilled liquids immediately. Do not rub. Leather has processing codes which indicate the proper care and cleaning. These codes are generally on the piece. If you have purchased Montage, your Montage representative will determine the proper cleaning agent. You may contact Montage at 1-800-686-5559
- All leathers perform better when preventive maintenance is practiced. Never use harsh chemicals or cleaning agents. Avoid all products containing solvents or oils as they may negatively affect the surface of the leather.
- Head, arm and foot rests are particularly vulnerable to damage resulting from interaction of body oils and grooming products. Fading and color lifting can result. This is not a manufacturing defect. Please use head and armrest fabric to avoid this.
- Leather fabric warranties vary by manufacturer; generally from one to three years. All labor warranties are for one year.
Natural Materials
Slate, marble and granite all have natural variations in graining and color composition. Pits, pores, veining, uneven tone, lines and indentations, are all inherent in these surfaces and are not defects. These materials are porous and easily stained. Wipe spills immediately as you would on a wood surface. Avoid setting beverage glasses directly on marble as they leave rings. Please use coasters.
Glass
All glass will scratch. Use caution when cleaning with abrasive towels, rags, etc. Again, the use of coasters, placemats, and felt pads on accessories is recommended.
Upholstery
- Fabric upholstery is warranted to be free of manufacturing defects for one year to the original purchaser (excluding commercial use). Fading, shading and pilling are not covered, nor are items showing excess soil or pet damage.
- Frames, springs, cushions and reclining mechanisms have varying warranty terms, depending on the manufacturer. Labor warranty on these items, as for all manufacturers, is one year.
- Regular weekly vacuuming with a soft bristled upholstery brush attachment is the number one manufacturer recommended care tip. Be sure to vacuum crevices, rotate removable cushions and fluff cores.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight as fabrics will fade.
- Spills should be blotted, not rubbed. Please do not attempt to clean unless aware of the fabric content and appropriate recommended cleaning agent. Never put covers in the washing machine unless recommended by the manufacturer. Always use the proper upholstery cleaner.
Wood Products
- Manufacturers warrant wood products to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year from date of purchase.
- Keep wood products looking new with dusting regularly and using a good quality furniture polish. Avoid popular furniture polishes that contain waxes and oils. They build up and attract dirt, smoke and pollutants in the air. Recommended polishes do not contain silicone, but do include a detergent, emulsifier and mineral oil which clean as well as act as a barrier against dirt and moisture.
- pollutants in the air. Recommended polishes do not contain silicone, but do include a detergent, emulsifier and mineral oil which clean as well as act as a barrier against dirt and moisture.
- Humidity/temperature changes cause wood to swell and shrink. Avoid placing your furniture by vents or a heat source, including sunlight, which will fade and lift the finish. Use pads, cloth or felt on accessories and lamps. Use a protective pad when writing on table surfaces, as writing will transfer.
- All surfaces will scratch; wood, marble and glass. Scratches are not a defect in the product but a result of improper care. Placemats, tablecloths, and coasters can prevent the development of permanent water rings on surfaces.
